About the Choir
One of the goals of community based choirs is to provide advanced choral training of the highest quality and by doing so encourage a deeper appreciation of choral music. In keeping with these ideals the Moose Jaw Children’s Choir (MJCC), was founded in 1993. Since that time the MJCC has grown to become an organization with two choirs - Junior and Senior - for young people ages eight to twenty-three years.
The MJCC was the first Saskatchewan organization to host an event that brought together an international group of community choirs and to this day continues to provide leadership in promoting the celebration of music.
Members of the MJCC attend rehearsals weekly which run from September thru to April. They host two concerts a year and participate in major festivals both locally and afar. The choir is also invited to perform at local events. Their repertoire ranges from choral classics to contemporary pop tunes with shades of gospel and blues.
Membership fees are $375.00 per year with discounts and sponsorship available.
